Squall's rival who causes havoc within Garden.
A candidate for SeeD. Although Seifer is a naturally gifted soldier, his inability to take orders and control his temper has earned him the label of "problematic". Although recognizing and praising Squall's abilities, Seifer regards him as his ultimate rival.

Ahhh, Seifer. In addition to holding the position of my favorite character ever, Seifer Almasy is also Balamb Garden's resident rebel and troublemaker - he stirs up tons of ruckus within Garden walls with his friends Fujin and Raijin despite his position as the Head of the Disciplinary Committee. I suppose not many students like his arrogant and haughty prescence; the instructors at Balamb may especially not enjoy him in their classes because of his tedency to take no heed to any kind of authority. However, both groups cannot deny his apparent talent and mastery of his weapon - a gunblade model dubbed "Hyperion."

Despite his superior ability, Seifer is most likely one of the eldest SeeD cadets; he has not yet been able to pass the SeeD exam despite his numerous trials. Prior to the beginning of the game, he has undergone testing three times, all of which ended in failure - he does not listen to orders on and off the field, which immensely hinders his ability to perform well. But alas, Seifer displays his stubborn perserverance and strong will by undergoing his fourth exam with Squall and Zell in the beginning of the game - although it will be his last.

Seifer Almasy is my favorite character because he is a dreamer - he dreams so far and high and will do anything, including turning his back on his home, to achieve his goals; he obviously commits himself fully in attaining his wishes and wants. Seifer is my favorite character because he is incredibly human, manipulated by his dream and his ambition, and twists himself so far into his imagination that he has no clue the horror of his actions. But most of all, Seifer is my favorite character because he is the epitome of a rebel, someone who goes against conformity with no regrets and does so with confidence. And you know what they say: good girls love bad boys! Rest assured, if Seifer Almasy were a real person, he'd have a hard time hiding and escaping, especially with me as his number one and incredibly crazed stalker. :)
